About Health Coach Tracey [Tracey Munton Shadday MPH, CHES, CHWC]

I’ve learned that it takes a community of friends to build the best health plan. I’m the one with the knee brace.

I’m an action-oriented advocate who firmly believes we are each one-of-a-kind works of art who deserve – and can become – our vision of our best selves. I approach wellness from a place of love, respect and caring, and with a holistic point of view: Mind, body and spirit working in harmony will always result in the changes we seek. I’ll partner with you to create your vision of your best self, and develop goals and objectives that leverage your strengths and take you to the results you seek.

My early love of science led to a 29-year career in education that allowed me to share my passion for both the environment and health. Empowerment became an important focus in my work as I learned to see the world through the eyes of my young students, who had serious concerns about the health of their world. I taught them to use tools to identify problems and implement sustainable solutions. Together we explored ways to protect our brains from injury, improve the health of the elderly, safeguard our loved ones from heart disease and protect our watershed. I earned my Master’s Degree in Public Health at USF in 1994 and became a Certified Health Education Specialist. I worked with college students to reduce sexually transmitted diseases and alcohol and drug abuse, and trained upperclassmen to become peer educators for incoming freshmen. Empowerment took on a new dimension as I approached my forties and thought about my future. I wanted to kick my fitness up a notch so I trained for my first sprint triathlon and realized my body could do some amazing things! The physical challenges had an incredibly positive effect on my mental, emotional and spiritual health. There was a ripple effect. With a strengthening of will came a newborn passion to encourage women to do the same. I gathered a group of friends from church and organized training events that culminated in completion of their first sprint triathlon. The power of community, whether in a classroom or a group of individuals reaching for similar goals, harnesses a force that still amazes me. It is that force that I love to tap into when working with clients. Partnering with those who want change is a lot like taking a journey together to a paradise you’ve cradled in your imagination, a place you can picture but have not yet experienced. As traveling partners, we move onward together.
